What your newsletter makes
Open rates are vanity. The question is whether the newsletter sells, and answering it takes one link habit.
1. Tag the links in every send

https://acme.com/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_campaign=aug-26-sendThe short form counts the newsletter as a source. The long form also names the individual send, so each issue gets its own row in the Campaigns tab.
2. Read the Campaigns tab
"Where your visitors came from" → Campaigns: each tagged send shows its visitors, orders and revenue. Money is credited to the visitor's last non-direct touch, so a reader who clicks Tuesday and buys Thursday still counts for the send.
3. Save the newsletter segment
Add filter → Source → your newsletter tag, save as a segment, and "what has the newsletter made this month" becomes one click. Subscribers who arrive from a signup form on your own site can be counted too: put a goal on the form.
