Get started
Create your account, prove you control your domain, install the tag and connect your revenue source. The tag records visits; a separate domain check establishes ownership.
1. Create your account
Create an account and confirm your email. Your free trial starts now: 14 days, every feature, no card. If you pick a plan before the trial ends, your card is first charged when the free days run out, not before.
2. Install the tag
Your dashboard shows a one-line snippet with your site's own id baked
in. Paste it anywhere in your HTML (the <head> is
conventional):
<script defer src="https://app.datastated.com/ds.js?v=2026-09-10-consent"
data-site="acme.com" data-site-id="dst_YOUR_SITE_ID"></script>The id identifies your installation. Open Verify your domain for your own domain, add the supplied homepage meta tag or DNS TXT record, then select Check now. DataStated checks that proof on your domain before granting access to its analytics. A tracking request does not prove ownership.
This snippet starts measuring when it loads. Where consent is required, add data-require-consent and connect acceptance and withdrawal to your consent manager using the consent guide. Framework notes are on the install page. A Shopify store can use the Shopify app for its pixel and order connection.
3. Watch the first numbers arrive
Visitors, pageviews, traffic sources, campaigns, pages, devices and countries fill in as traffic arrives, with a live count of visitors from the last five minutes. Every number is a plain count of things that happened. Nothing is sampled, modeled or estimated.
Filter any of it from the bar above the dashboard: pick a source, a country, a device, a page or a goal to narrow visitor analytics, including attributed orders. Check each panel's scope: ad-platform reports and imported daily totals do not contain visitor identities. Save a filter you keep coming back to as a segment and it becomes one click.
4. Connect your revenue
Connect a payment source to bring in payment records. A payment joins a visit journey only when a matching identifier is available. Orders sent from your page are self-reported and do not confirm a payment:
- Stripe: paste one read-only key.
- Shopify: one app install covers the pixel and the orders.
- The tag itself: send orders and goals directly from the page.
Where to go next
- How attribution works: what claimed, touched, started and closed mean.
- MCP and CLI: your numbers in Claude, Cursor, or any terminal.
- API reference: analytics and account resources as JSON.
