Tutorials / Attribute every channel
What SEO makes, in dollars
SEO tools measure positions and clicks. Your dashboard can measure what those clicks turned into, because search engines announce themselves in the referrer.
1. Organic search is already a channel
Visits arriving from Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and friends are
classified by their referrer. Google Ads has its own channel:
gclid, gbraid, wbraid,
gclsrc=aw.ds, or a Google source with a paid medium
classifies the visit as google-ads. Organic Google
referrals stay in google. See the
classification rules.
2. Rank it by money
In "Where your visitors came from", rank by Most revenue and read the search engines' rows. Then check "Where your sales came from" for the journey view: search often starts journeys that something else closes, and the three counts show that instead of hiding it.
3. Which pages earn the search money
Filter to Source → google, then look at Entry pages: these are the pages search lands buyers on, ranked by the revenue those visitors produced. That list is your SEO priority queue.
