Import your history

Upload daily visitors and pageviews from your old analytics tool. Those totals fill days with no tracked visitor activity in the dashboard, charts, window API and weekly summary.

How it works

Open your site's Settings → Import, choose the export file, and press Import. The file is parsed on the spot and never stored. One row per day lands in your dashboard; re-importing the same days overwrites them, so a corrected export always wins. Files up to 20 MB and 11,000 days, ten imports a minute per person.

Supported exports

  • Plausible: their export zip, as is, or any single CSV from it.
  • Fathom: the site stats CSV export.
  • Simple Analytics: the CSV export.
  • Google Analytics: a report export over time (GA4's CSV, with its date and Active users columns).
  • Datafast and everything else: any CSV with a date column and a visitors column (pageviews optional). Column names like uniques, users, active users, views and page views are all recognized.

The rules it follows

Imported numbers are aggregates from someone else's books, so DataStated keeps them separate from what your own tag counts:

  • A day with tracked visitor activity always wins. Refund, dispute and subscription ledger records alone do not displace an imported day.
  • Imports carry visitors and pageviews only, never revenue. Revenue comes from recorded order events, whose payment evidence depends on their source.
  • Imported days remain labeled as imports. They contain no visitor identities, goals, journeys or payment evidence, and visitor filters exclude them.
  • Deleting the import (same page, one button) removes every imported day and touches nothing your tag recorded.

The visitor total combines tracked unique visitors with imported daily visitor counts. Imported visitors cannot be deduplicated across days or against tracked visitors, so it is not a count of unique people across the whole period. Sources, journeys, funnels and engagement cover tracked visitors only. A chart with imported days uses daily or weekly buckets, not invented hourly activity.
